Position Overview
The Tanker Truck Driver – CIR Crew position serves as a key participant in the interaction between the Company, crew members, contractors, and customers. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient loading, transportation, and delivery of asphalt oil, lime slurry, and related materials used in Cold In-Place Recycling (CIR) operations while complying with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities include loading oil or lime slurry at the yard, transporting materials to active job sites, positioning in the loading/unloading line, and safely pumping materials into designated tankers at the job site. Drivers are expected to complete multiple haul cycles throughout the workday to support continuous CIR production operations.
In addition to material transport duties, the Tanker Truck Driver assists with the mobilization and demobilization of CIR equipment. This includes transporting equipment from the roadway to designated parking or staging locations at the end of each workday, returning equipment to the job site at the start of the next shift, and assisting with moving equipment between projects upon job completion.
The position may provide guidance and support to other crew members on job sites and is responsible for promoting and enforcing Company safety programs, policies, and procedures, as well as compliance with OSHA, Department of Transportation (DOT), and other applicable regulatory requirements. The Tanker Truck Driver is also responsible for completing required inspections, documentation, logs, and maintenance records accurately and in a timely manner.
Essential Job Duties
- Loads, transports, and unloads asphalt oil, lime slurry, and other related materials used in Cold In-Place Recycling (CIR) operations in a safe and efficient manner.
• Safely operates tanker trucks and related pumping equipment to load materials at the yard and deliver them to active job sites.
• Positions tanker trucks in designated unloading areas and safely pumps materials into on-site CIR tankers and equipment while maintaining production flow.
• Completes multiple haul cycles throughout the workday to support continuous CIR paving and recycling operations.
• Assists with the mobilization and demobilization of CIR equipment, including transporting equipment to and from job sites, staging areas, and overnight parking locations.
• Assists with moving CIR equipment and support vehicles between projects upon completion of work.
• Conducts daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tanker trucks, trailers, pumps, hoses, valves, and related equipment to identify hazards, defects, maintenance needs, or necessary repairs. Reports issues promptly to appropriate personnel.
• Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of trucks, tankers, hoses, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Adheres to all applicable DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and Company safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Completes and submits all required logs, inspection reports, fuel records, and related paperwork accurately and timely.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety awareness, particularly when operating around moving traffic, heavy equipment, hot materials, and active construction zones.
• Maintains awareness of load weights, material handling procedures, and proper securement practices during transport and unloading operations.
• Effectively communicates with Foremen, operators, crew members, dispatch personnel, and customers to coordinate deliveries and maintain efficient job site operations.
• Maintains professional and respectful working relationships with co-workers, customers, subcontractors, and the general public.
• Maintains the ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and extended hours as required during peak construction season.
• Maintains the ability to travel up to 100% of the time to various job sites and project locations.
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
• Maintains an acceptable motor vehicle record, valid Commercial Driver License (CDL), tanker endorsement, and current medical card.
• Completes additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Prior work-related experience preferred.
• Working knowledge and experience with heavy equipment, construction processes, and safety protocols.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and current medical card required.
• Valid driver license and acceptable motor vehicle record required.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) and current FMCSA rules and regulations, including the ability to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines.
• Proven oral and written communication skills, job planning skills, and mechanical aptitude required.
• Ability to work long hours outdoors and remain seated/driving for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work Monday through Sunday and overtime as required, including irregular hours, out-of-town work, overnight stays, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable work ethic and regular attendance required.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds, including co-workers, vendors, subcontractors, and customers at all levels.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding departmental and Company matters.

• May be exposed to contaminants such as dust, fumes, exhaust, hot oil products, and hazardous equipment.
• May occasionally work in very bright or dim lighting conditions.
• May occasionally be exposed to hazardous situations that could result in cuts, burns, or other minor injuries.
• May be required to work in tight or confined spaces and uneven terrain.
• Must be able to regularly wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, safety vests, gloves, hearing protection, and other required safety gear.

Position Overview
The Laborer/Ground position will be assigned to a variety of projects on various job sites. The position will assist the Foreman on monitoring the ground functions of the equipment as well as operating heavy equipment, smaller equipment, and/or completing physical labor related duties. The Foreman will also direct the daily work activities of the Laborer/Ground.
Essential Job Duties
- May operate equipment that requires technical expertise and/or specialized training. Heavy mechanical equipment to include but not limited to front-end loaders, track and/or rubber tire loaders, dump trucks, backhoes, motor graders, water trucks, milling machines, reclaimers, and forklifts in a safe and efficient manner.
- Inspects equipment, and/or components daily to identify hazards, defects, necessary adjustments and repairs. Performs minor maintenance activities and reports exceptional problems to Foreman and/or supervisor.
- Ensures equipment is clean, maintained, and securely stored.
- Maintains ability to use sensors for level and grade control.
- Occasionally confers with customers or the general public and is expected to do so in a professional manner. Communicates any concerns to Foreman and/or supervisor.
- Maintains good working relations with co-workers and other employees.
- Maintain ability to work overtime, nights and weekends particularly during the high season.
- Maintains ability to travel up to 100% of time to various job sites.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) and current OSHA rules and regulations and ensuring compliance with these guidelines preferred.
- Ability to engage in heavy manual labor for extended periods, in all types of weather and under various working conditions.
- Ability to work Monday through Sunday and overtime as required (including irregular hours, out of town work, overnight stays, weekends and holidays).
- Demonstrated skills in the care and use of hand and power tools employed in all phases of heavy equipment mechanical maintenance and repair work.
